From training to professional licensing

KJ’s Barbershop works with barber education partners to help participants pursue the education and training necessary for professional barber licensing. Licensing requirements vary by state, and participants must satisfy the requirements of the state in which they intend to become licensed.

A day in the program

What does a typical day look like?

9:00 AM – Training begins

Participants report to their assigned training location.

Morning – Education & skill development

Technical instruction, theory, licensing preparation, demonstrations, and practical barber skills.

Afternoon – Hands-on barbershop experience

Experience in a professional environment while learning customer service, shop operations, barbering techniques, and career skills.

Career development

Employment preparation, professional profiles, networking, and career planning.

5:00 PM – Training day ends

Wrap-up, sanitation, and review.

Actual daily schedules may vary based on training requirements and barber school schedules.
